Diggers supported 2 local organisations this month with their quest to help the community.

Mission Possible located in Kingston is a group of dedicated ladies led by Gail Harrower who sew items for the community. People in need such as hospital patients, nursing home clients and children. Diggers supplied much needed material to Mission possible in order to make quilts for children who attend camp quality camps.  Maree Chairman of the Board visited the ladies from mission possible to present their cheque to assist with their Camp quality quilts.

Another group of lovely generous women of Logan is the Logan View Club. The View Clubs mission is to raise money to support and sponsor children from the Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. Each month they meet at Diggers who supply a complementary function room for their lunch and fund-raising activities. They use money raised to support local school aged children through the Smith Family.  They currently have 9 sponsored children from the local area.   Diggers Services Club donated funds for the committee to purchase a laptop and stationery.

Diggers Services Club donated funds to Braveheart’s

Braveheart’s Mission is to provide a coordinated approach to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. Braveheart’s provide specialist therapeutic intervention for children who have experienced harm and support for non-offending Family members.  Braveheart’s is also committed to training and education through research, legislative reforms and public awareness.

Diggers Services Club has a long association with Braveheart’s over the years. In August 2023 Diggers Services Club donated funds to Braveheart’s to purchase a 5 pack of specialised storybooks for 500 families who have children on the Logan waiting list to receive counselling.  These books have vital personal safety concepts and a parental guide to help build resilience and provide support to the children as they await their counselling.

Candice Clarke, Therapeutic Services Manager at Braveheart’s came to the Club and was presented their cheque from Maree Robbins Chairman, Directors Desley Scott and Yvonne Judge and Diggers Club General Manager Christie Shelton.
